Electrical Safety in HAZMAT Environments

This course presents fundamental information on electrical safety in HAZMAT environments. Upon completing the course, employees should:
– Recognize the different types of hazards associated with electricity.
– Know why electricity and hazardous materials should not “mix.
– Understand how the National Electric Code (NEC) categorizes HAZMAT environments that contain ignitable materials.
– Know the types of engineering controls and work practices that are used to keep electricity from causing HAZMAT incidents.
